Notes on Foam Cell

Antony Hall, Foam, Installation detail, 2013

Installation detail from the prototype for a work based on renewing a layer of foam between glass plates. Its another work which uses the Hele Shaw technique. I have played with this for a few years on and off, in this set up the bubbles rise against a white background, so the detail of the structure is seen as a shadow cast on the background, appearing more like an impossibly complex drawing. While the wet bubbles can bee seen glistening in front of this, jostling morphing and rearranging, always reforming a perfect geometry. To finish the work I need to develop a pump that can re circulate both air and soap liquid.

Its far from a finished work. Video documentation to come soon
